News

For any readers who aren't on facebook, today is a momentous day - Carolyn's second birthday! My baby is growing up too fast :(. With that in mind, we are very excited to announce that baby #2 is on the way . . . due May 8!

A Heart-Melting Moment

Carolyn and I have been at mom's all week helping out with Amy's kids while they closed on their house in VA, tied up loose ends, and left. Lizzie is also here while Lisa & Robert are on a cruise.

Last night, B picked up a picture of Grandpa Madison (mom's Dad) off the piano, and took it to Mom. Here's a script of their conversation:

Mom: That's Grandpa Madison
B: Gapa Madison
Mom: He is in heaven
B: (hugging photo) I love you Gapa Madison

I wasn't there when it happened, but Mom told me about it and I got a little misty :). Then I called Grandma Madison and told her about it. She said that sweet little story made her day!

A Beach is different in WA

As you can see, there are a lot of rocks and big logs! A bit different than in South Carolina or the Caribbean (that last beaches I have visited - lucky I know haha). Have to say I miss the soft warm sand, but it was still fun, and we were with the Schneiders! So that was really what made it awesome :). I love these pics and how they show B's interactions with her Daddy. So sweet :).

Birthday Bash

We celebrated my 28th b-day at the "Yellow Church Cafe" here in town. I chose that restaurant because at the time they had grown-up mac 'n' cheese on the menu. Yeah . . . to die for! Penne in a sauce of chedder, parmesan, gorganzola, and feta. We were joined by Tad, Erin, Leta & Kyle, and LeAnne & Jayme. It was great fun!

Fun with the Schneiders

Oh my gravy we had so much fun visiting the Schneiders last month! It was a quick trip, but well worth it. We stayed up way too late (of course) and I don't remember what it was but something had us laughing til we were crying. Been a while since that has happened. B and Eva were 2 peas in a pod, which made their Mamas very happy indeed :). This is us at a park on Bainbridge Island, on the Puget Sound. B didn't like the water quite as much as she did last year in SC, but she had lots of fun playing on the logs and rocks. I have more pics of that that I took myself, which will be in the next post.

This is a pic that Delayna took . . . isn't that just the sweetest thing you have ever seen? I love it - the baby side of her has to have that bink while the little girl part wants to wear heels and a boa. Thank goodness there is still some small part of babyness in there somewhere!

Random stuff

I am behind on stuff again . . . I will do a post about my birthday and trip to see the Schneiders soon :).

In the meantime, I have to record some words that B has picked up in the last week. She says, very clearly, "bathroom", "fresh", and "bicycle". At not even 22 mos, it is absolutely hillarious to hear such big words coming from someone so small.

Oh, and a quote for the day - one that Craig the political scientist likes a lot - from Winston Churchill. "Democracy is the worst form of government. Except for all others"

She turned me into a newt! A newt? . . . . . . . I got better . . .

A really funny quote from Monty Python. For some reason I relate to that a lot with my random illness. I still have no idea what is going on, and U of W has had my CT for over a month now. Not real impressed. But the good news is that despite the fact that no one can tell me what is wrong with me, I am improving. Probably 1 in 3 temperature reads are normal, and my energy level is slowly but surely increasing. There has been a lot of progress in the last month. And really, getting adequate sleep (according to what I need - not the "average" number most ppl do just fine with) is do-able. I have to plan around it and budget my energy, and it's annoying but, in the grand scheme of things its really nothing to complain about. So here's to improvement and hoping for more improvement! And no longer being a newt :).
